Yoda Cake
This is my attempt at making a Star Wars Yoda cake... With Christmas celebrations, job promotion, and assisting in our hospital grand opening even life has been a little hectic. This is what I came up with with the little time I had. I wanted to surprise my husband with a cake, I know he wasn't expecting it.

Cherry Blossom Bachlorette Cake
I had a co-worker who was getting married and we decided to have a small office party for her.
small chocolate cake covered in Fondant.
I used this silicon cherry blossom mold from Wilton's which I purchase from Wal-Mart to make this cake. Since the bird faces only in one direction I took off it's beak and added it to the otherside of it's head so that the birds would face each other.
May The Frosting Be With You- Star Wars Cake
Come with me and we can rule the birthday party together...
Luke, I am your cake topper!
Not the best cake I've done... Life is what happened and I got busy but I thought I should post this anyways. For my 4 year old twins... Aiden Luke and Reese Liam. Cake toppers purchased from Wal-Mart bakery.
These paper masks were a great addition to the party also purchased at Wal-Mart.
I didn't prepare a head of time and had to make a last minute pinata. Empty cereal box stuffed with Candy, glow stick swords, baloons, etc. Wrapped in blue tissue paper, taped on ribbon, and a Star Wars printed image taped on to the box. It worked just like a pull string pinata and they loved it.

Missionary Cake
Happy Birthday Elder Holtz!
I used a 9x13" cake pan covered the cake with a thin layer of frosting then covered with fondant ... easy to work with and tastes pretty good.

Wedding Cake for the Hughes
I made this cake for Lori (Keller) Hughes and Gerald Hughes wedding. 3 tiered cake. Bottom and top are Devil's food chocolate cake with cherry pie filling and the middle tier is white cake with orange flavored buttercream. All covered in fondant and decorated with pink roses. This took about 3 days to complete. On the 3rd day I stood back and I saw everything that I had made, and, behold, it was very good. And on the 4th day... I rested :-)
This photo was taken before I added the flowers I wanted you to see the details on the trim.

Cakes, Cakes, and More Cakes
You know when you have one of those days when you haven't posted anything on your blog for a while but you have a lot of stuff that you should have posted? Then you wanna post everything but everyday life is trying to pull you away from the computer. So I'm going to post and it's not gonna be pretty... this is my vomit of the mouth blog post of cakes...
Saint Patty's Day cupcake. White cake mix, diet 7up, and green food coloring, follow package directions for baking times, topped with lite whip cream, fondant clover, fondant gold pot, chocolate gold rocks, and a sour candy rainbow from Airheads Xtremes.
Dan's birthday cake is a chocolate cake mix mixed with diet cherry cola. That's it. Bake according to package directions. Filling is cherry pie filling. Frosting is a tub of lite whip cream mixed with one small container of vanilla pudding. Decorated with chocolate, silver dragees, and red gobstoppers. Dan's name is made out of gumpaste cut out using my cricut cake machine that was purchased through Amazon.com for only $75... okay there was $25 for shipping too.
Ryan's is a similar cake but the cake is a Hershey Bar cake recipe that is very decadent. Same type of frosting as Dan's and has gumpaste trees cut out using my Cricut cake
My April Fool's day joke of a carton of broken eggs when these are really cupcake minis, whipped cream, lemon curd, white candy coating in a greased plastic egg to make egg shells. One important tip about the egg shell that I didn't figure out till after 3 dozen broken ones. There are tiny holes in the plastic egg shell, use a toothpick to help push out your shell so that it will more likely come out whole. I got this idea from a book I won at a local cup cake competition called What's New Cupcake?
When I got tired of make broken eggs I made these cute lemon curd filled cup cake minis with gummy citrus slices that I bought from walmart.
Easter cupcakes for my daughter's 1st grade class. Chocolate covered chow mein noodles, cadbury milk chocolate eggs, and butterfly sprinkles. Jellybean eggs in bird nest was a package of 12 that I bought at walmart. Last on is frosting covered in toasted coconut and a Cadbury egg.
Okay I'm done now... see ya in my next blog post.

Tinkerbell Cake II
My husband's co-worker discussed her dilemma with purchasing a cake at a local grocery store in Nome and the costs associated with it. She was going to purchase a regular sized sheet cake with edible tinkerbell picture laid on top and her daughter's name written. The price? $80.00!!!
My husband then called me and asked if I was willing to do a tinkerbell cake for $80.00. This is what I came up with.

Strawberry cake with tundraberry filling frosted with butter cream and gum paste decorations. Much better than a boring dumb sheet cake ;-)
There's me delivering a cake.
Normally I don't sell cakes and only make them for family members. There's too much stress involved when someone wants to buy a cake from me, but this was a lot of fun and I enjoyed making this cake.
