Cakes, Cakes, and More Cakes

You know when you have one of those days when you haven't posted anything on your blog for a while but you have a lot of stuff that you should have posted?  Then you wanna post everything but everyday life is trying to pull you away from the computer.  So I'm going to post and it's not gonna be pretty... this is my vomit of the mouth blog post of cakes...

Dan's birthday cake is a chocolate cake mix mixed with diet cherry cola.  That's it.  Bake according to package directions.  Filling is cherry pie filling.  Frosting is a tub of lite whip cream mixed with one small container of vanilla pudding.  Decorated with chocolate, silver dragees, and red gobstoppers.  Dan's name is made out of gumpaste cut out using my cricut cake machine that was purchased through Amazon.com for only $75... okay there was $25 for shipping too.
Ryan's is a similar cake but the cake is a Hershey Bar cake recipe that is very decadent.  Same type of frosting as Dan's and has gumpaste trees cut out using my Cricut cake

Saint Patty's Day cupcake.  White cake mix, diet 7up, and green food coloring, follow package directions for baking times, topped with lite whip cream, fondant clover, fondant gold pot, chocolate gold rocks, and a sour candy rainbow from Airheads Xtremes.

My April Fool's day joke of a carton of broken eggs when these are really cupcake minis, whipped cream, lemon curd, white candy coating in a greased plastic egg to make egg shells.  One important tip about the egg shell that I didn't figure out till after 3 dozen broken ones.  There are tiny holes in the plastic egg shell, use a toothpick to help push out your shell so that it will more likely come out whole.  I got this idea from a book I won at a local cup cake competition called What's New Cupcake?

When I got tired of make broken eggs I made these cute lemon curd filled cup cake minis with gummy citrus slices that I bought from walmart.

Easter cupcakes for my daughter's 1st grade class.  Chocolate covered chow mein noodles, cadbury milk chocolate eggs, and butterfly sprinkles.  Jellybean eggs in bird nest was a package of 12 that I bought at walmart.  Last on is frosting covered in toasted coconut and a Cadbury egg.

Okay I'm done now... see ya in my next blog post.
